Personal ESG scores

What are Personal ESG Scores? Definition and Purpose…according to government sources.

“A Personal ESG Score evaluates an individual’s performance and impact based on three main factors: environmental, social, and governance (ESG). As ESG criteria assess businesses’ sustainability and ethics, a personal ESG score offers insight into a person’s commitment to sustainable practices and responsible decision-making.

The purpose behind personal ESG scores involves promoting more mindful behaviors towards the environment and society. By holding individuals accountable for their actions, these scores encourage better choices and habits, leading to a positive change on a larger scale”

Basically, it is the same criteria as for corporate scoring.

Why should we be against personal ESG scoring practices? For many reasons, however I will list just a few that my mind can wrap around.

* Your purchase history, sales history, and public records, such as your credit report, are considered to gauge your impact on the environment and society.

* Lenders can and will use this system to choose who they extend services or credit to. Forcing us to comply or else!

* Banks will go through our statements and credit card purchases and give us each an ESG score. If yours is low they don’t have to give you a car loan or mortgage, or personal loan. They may even not allow you to use their banking services.

* ESG funds consistently underperform even though the use of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors in driving investment decision making has grown tremendously in the past (latest records show investments into ESG funds more than doubling between 2019 and 2020). They believe the environment, social obedience, and following governmental regulations are more important than successful investments.

* We may be forces to accept their (governmental) leftist agenda at the expense of higher returns for our investments.

Some in the government and financial arena say we should accept the process of ESG scoring and they offer the following words of (so-called) wisdom as to the importance of being on board;

Governance Factors;

“Governance Factors are crucial components of your personal ESG score. They involve assessing your commitment to ethical practices, transparency, and fairness in your personal and professional life. Consider the following aspects to improve your governance score:

  • Decision-making: Practice deliberative and transparent decision-making processes in both your personal and professional settings.
  • Ethical behavior: Maintain integrity and honesty in all your actions, avoiding conflicts of interest and embracing accountability.
  • Compliance: Adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards that govern your personal and professional activities.

Remember that your actions, however small, play a part in building a more sustainable and equitable world.”

In reality the above comments really depend… depends on who decides what the definition of transparency, fairness, ethical practices, integrity, honesty, accountability, and adherence to laws is! And we know from past experience the meanings of words are fluid depending on who is in charge.

Sadly, it doesn’t really matter who is against it. The government, banks and corporations are going to impose this on us eventually anyway as is indicated in the following;

“WASHINGTON, March 1 (Reuters) – A Republican bill to prevent pension fund managers from basing investment decisions on factors like climate change cleared Congress on Wednesday, setting up a confrontation with President Joe Biden, who is expected to veto the measure.”

You may be wondering why I have an article like this when my past articles have always had something to do with faith, religion, or Jesus. I will explain. Scripture tells us that in the end times there will be a power struggle over control of just about everything. Satan is behind that struggle. Controlling our finances is just one way the powers that be (whether it will be our government or from the one world government that will try to take over) will have in order to control us. It is just another little step that Satan is taking in order to try and fulfill his desires to thwart God’s plan. We, as Christ followers, need to be aware of all that is happening in our world today no matter how obscure or outlandish the actions may seem.

Remember a false teacher, heretic, or deceiver in a church can turn many away from His truth. And a snowball that starts rolling down a mountain can turn out in the end to be an avalanche that will wipe out an entire village.

Sleeping Christians need to wake up and be ready. The time is near.
