For years I have been uneasy with the direction some churches (even some that I have attended) are taking with regards to their worship music. I have long felt it has gotten out of hand by becoming more of a concert than a worship time. It has become a means to get people to attend church instead of singing praises and glory to our Lord like we are supposed to. It has become an experience and spectacle for the people attending with the array of strobe lighting, smoke, flashing and disco types special effects and such that take people (me included) away from the worshipping of Jesus to the awe of show.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Christian concerts but I don’t see where they belong in church with the teaching. While online I discovered the below two video teachings that give a great description of the problems with some music in church and the methods used to get people in the doors. I agree with both of the comments in the videos. I urge you to watch them and listen to the comments they bring up and if you will; let me know what you think!
