ARE WE TO COEXIST, AND ARE ALL PEOPLE HIS CHILDREN?

Coexist?

God desires us to coexist in society, but not to sacrifice our faith and beliefs in Him. We can be in the world but not of the world, as stated in John 17:14-16: “I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. ¹⁵ My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. ¹⁶ They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.

Being in the world means we can enjoy the blessings of the world God has provided for us, such as His beautiful creation and the sights and sounds of nature He has created. However, we are not to be of the world, which includes accepting the values, morals, pleasures (that are contrary to His word), and sins the world participates in.

Does God tell us all people are His children? Are all people going to heaven? Scripture tells us no; only those who truly accept Him and become a new creation are His children and receive the gift of Salvation.

As His children, we are to stand firm in the faith, live as a light in a dark world, love our neighbors (but not condone, accept, or take part in their sins), and go out into the world and spread the (true) gospel of salvation found only in Jesus Christ without exception or alteration.

God is serious about His word and us following it or else. And yes, He is slow to anger, but He administers righteous judgment when the time comes. Remember the flood, wrath raining down on Sodom and Gomorrah, the tables in the temples (both times), and what is going to happen when He returns in the end times?

1 Timothy 2:3-4; For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, ⁴ who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” But this does not mean He will relent, change His mind, and allow people who ignored His wishes to obtain the salvation He offers.

On the other hand, for those who do not accept Him as Lord and those who profess to be believers but are not, His answer to them is unchanging, steadfast, and just in condemnation. He tells us;

 Hebrews 6:4-6; For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.

Matthew 7:21-23: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

John 3:36: Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

Romans 2:6-8: He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.

Galatians 5:4: “You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.”

1 Timothy 4:1: “The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.”

Isaiah 59:1-2: “Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.”

Don’t believe what other people think or say about salvation; trust the scriptures for the truth!
